The Hospital-University Federation FRAME — Finding Reliable Answers to Manage Endometriosis, established in 2024, brings together teams committed to advancing the understanding and management of endometriosis and adenomyosis.

Our federation brings together the expertise of AP-HP, Université Paris Cité, Inserm, several leading research institutes, as well as patient associations, working together to improve care and knowledge for women affected by these conditions.

Our Objective

FHU FRAME has a clear ambition: to provide more precise, faster, and more effective answers for women affected by endometriosis or adenomyosis.

To achieve this goal, we develop two main areas of work:

  • Improving the understanding of the disease, through clinical, radiological, biological, environmental, and psychosocial research projects.
  • Enhancing patient care, by evaluating new diagnostic, therapeutic, organizational, and quality-of-life approaches.

A Federating Network in the Paris Region

FHU FRAME relies on a unique network in France composed of:

  • 16 clinical teams from 5 AP-HP hospital groups and Saint-Joseph Hospital
  • 6 fundamental research teams (Inserm, Institut Cochin, Institut Imagine, Institut Pasteur)
  • A wide range of expertise including imaging, pain, fertility, surgery, genomics, microbiome research, and social sciences

This collaborative structure is also supported by large clinical databases, dedicated cohorts, and extensive clinical activity, including more than 1,000 endometriosis surgeries and over 4,000 assisted reproductive technology procedures each year.

Innovating to Better Support Patients

Our federation supports and coordinates:

  • Ambitious research projects (ERC, ANR, PHRC)
  • Diagnostic innovations, including biomarkers and advanced imaging
  • Multicenter studies on pain, fertility, and non-surgical approaches
  • Training and dissemination initiatives aimed at improving awareness among healthcare professionals and the general public

Our Ambition

We aim for FHU FRAME to become:

  • A national reference center for endometriosis and adenomyosis
  • A driver of impactful and practical innovations
  • A collaborative space where patients’ voices and experiences are fully integrated
  • An internationally recognized center of expertise in Europe and beyond
